Stallions vs Wildcats Entertain Huge Crowd
What a Game between St. Louis and Los Angeles
March 25, 2018
Los Angeles, CA - One of the best games of the year took place as a raucous Los Angeles crowd packed the house on a beautiful 70 degree night. The homestanding Wildcats took an early lead but fell late as the dynamic offense of the St. Louis Stallions proved too much for the Wildcats' tiring defense.
The Wildcats scored first as QB Jimmy Clausen hit wideout DaVaris Daniels on a beauty of a bomb down the left sideline for a 63 yard TD on the team’s second possession. On their next drive, some solid running by Brandon Oliver got the Wildcats into field goal range and they took advantage for a 10-0 lead.
St. Louis countered with a drive of their own, taking the ball 73 yards and ending with a Paxton Lynch pass to WR Kenny Bell to bring the game back to a one score difference. At the half the game was 16-7 Los Angeles on the strength of another Corey Acosta field goal.
St. Louis got the ball to start the second half, and Paxton Lynch quickly found his top wideout, Terrelle Pryor, for a 27 yard score. Los Angeles scored on their first drive as well, with Oliver diving in from the two to give the Wildcats a 23-14 lead.
The third quarter ended with the Stallions driving, and they would eventually punch it in on a Matt Jones rush to pull within 23-21. After a great return from RB Dexter McCluster, giving Los Angeles a short field, a big stop on 3rd and 2 forced them to go for 3, and take a 26-21 lead.
That missed opportunity for 6 would come back to haunt the home squad, as, with 6 minutes left in the game, Lynch found Pryor again, this time on a quick out route, and when the corner slipped trying to go for the tip, Pryor spun towards the end zone and gave St. Louis the lead. Los Angeles would get the ball back two times in the final six minutes, but on neither occasion were they able to crack the St. Louis defense and get into field goal range.

Arena Football League Files for Bankruptcy
March 26, 2018
Stamford, CT - After the 2017 Arena Football League (AFL) season, the current collective bargaining agreement between the AFL and the Arena Football League Players Union expired and a new agreement could not be reached, so the league fired commissioner Scott Butera, and replaced him with Randall Boe.
Boe announced a few weeks later, that the league would be filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy due to unresolved liabilities and lack of capital with the intentions of returning for the 2019 season. League officials would spend the 2018 season re-evaluating the league's business model.
This announcement came as a surprise to many of the league's owners, and most of them were left looking for alternative leagues for their immediate future.
