The Dallas Renegades Make Three Texas Teams in the Alliance

March 2, 2017

Dallas, TX - Vince McMahon introduced the Dallas crowd to their new professional football team, the Dallas Renegades, and their owner, a long time friend and a man they're very familiar with Mark Cuban.

Mark Cuban along with Maverick Cuban Sports LLC, will have the Dallas Renegades ready to play for the 2018 AAF season. The coaching staff will be announced sometime around August. Cuban and Maverick Cuban Sports LLC bought the Dallas Renegades for $15M.

Cuban has quite the history working with McMahon, as in 2003, Cuban participated in the Summer Slam event that was held by McMahon's WWE, along with in 2007 when both bought shares of Zuffa LLC, the parent company that ran the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) from 2001 to 2016.

Cuban also has a history with the game of football. He bought into the United Football League (UFL) back in 2011 and has made negative comments towards the NFL in the past such as when he told the press that pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered, and the NFL were pretty hoggish.

The Renegades will play their games at Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas.

Stamford, CT - Vince McMahon and the AAF didn't hold a press conference for the new ownership groups of the San Antonio Commanders and the Houston Roughnecks like they did with the newly created Dallas Renegades, but both teams have been purchased.

The Houston Roughnecks have been purchased by Jim Crane and Crane Capital Sports LLC. Crane is the owner and chairman of the Major League Baseball's Houston Astros to go along with running Crane Worldwide Logistics and Crane Freight and Shipping. Crane purchased the Houston Roughnecks for $12.5M, and will also be responsible for player salaries, staff salaries, and stadium leases.

The San Antonio Commanders have been purchased by Chuck Greenberg and Greenberg Sports Group LLC, a company he created back in 2008. Greenberg and Greenberg Sports Group LLC previously owned MLB's Texas Rangers from 2010 to 2011, and currently own two minor league baseball teams, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans and Frisco Roughriders.

Greenberg has had a long time friendship with new Dallas Renegades owner Mark Cuban. The two grew up together in Pittsburgh, PA, were neighbors and went to church together. Cuban said that Greenberg, "puts the fan first, and he likes to make sure they have fun. I think he's going to be great for the Alliance, and I told him that I couldn't wait to work with him again." Greenberg and Greenberg Sports Group LLC also bought the San Antonio Commanders for $12.5M.
