San Diego Fleet announces rest of coaching staff

Colin Kaepernick is League's Biggest Name

July 19, 2017

San Diego, CA - San Diego Fleet Owner Paul Pelosi along with Pelosi Football LLC dropped a bomb shell on the sports community this morning. Not only did he, along with Head Coach Mike Martz, announce the rest of the coaching staff but he announced who the first player that staff would be coaching, Colin Kaepernick.

“I believe Colin is a guy that should be starting under center in the NFL right now. We're more than pleased that he has decided to once again come and prove his doubters wrong.”

Colin Kaepernick

Colin is currently in a lawsuit battle against the NFL for what he believes is collusion against him because of his stand for equality. Colin hasn't had an NFL tryout since opting out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers after the 2016 season. Colin brings quite the resume with him to the AAF, including 85 total Touchdowns against 30 interceptions in career to go along with 12,271 passing yards and 2,300 rushing yards. Pelosi signed Kaepernick to a 2 year, $10M deal that also included a 10% stake of Pelosi Football LLC.

Vitt served as the Interim Head Coach of the New Orleans Saints in 2012, and has also served as an Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator with the St. Louis Rams in 2004 and 2005 and then for the New Orleans Saints from 2006 to 2016.

Former NFL QB Jon Kitna will be the QB Coach for the Fleet. Kitna has been a Head Coach at the High School level since 2012. Former NFL DB Eric Allen will also be serving as the DB Coach in San Diego. Allen played in the NFL from 1988 to 2001 but this will be his first opportunity as a coach at any level.

A.J. Smith will be the General Manager of the San Diego Fleet. Smith worked for the NFL's San Diego Chargers as the GM from 2001 to 2012.

The Fleet will be playing their home games at SDCCU Stadium in San Diego, CA.

Dragons Retain Zorn as Head Coach, Hire an OC

July 26, 2017

Seattle, WA - Seattle Dragons lost their Head Coach Raheem Morris to the NFL earlier this offseason, and quickly named OC Jim Zorn as the Interim Head Coach. Well, this morning they removed the "interim" tag from his label and named Zorn as the Head Coach along with hiring two new assistants to his staff.

The Dragons hired Chicago Bears QB Coach Dave Ragone as their new OC.
