August 8, 2017

Dallas, TX - Head Coach Bob Stoops introduced the Dallas crowd to the newest faces of the Renegades. Lastly, QB Tom Savage was introduced as the team's first franchise designated player.

Dallas Renegades

Mark Mangino coached under Stoops as the OC for the University of Oklahoma from 1999 to 2001 before becoming the Head Coach at the University of Kansas from 2002 to 2009. Most recently for the 2014 and 2015 seasons, he was the OC for the Iowa State Cyclones. Jim Tomsula spent the 2015 season as the Head Coach of the San Francisco 49ers but had previously been their Defensive Line Coach from 2007 to 2014. He also previously was the Head Coach of the Berlin Thunder and Rhein Fire in NFL Europe.

Bobby Blizzard was named as the Tight Ends/Wide Receivers Coach. He played in the NFL from 2004 to 2007 before becoming a High School Head Coach. DeMarco Murray played under Bob Stoops at Oklahoma before enjoying an eight year NFL career. This will be his first coaching job as the Renegade's Running Backs Coach. Drew Tate will be joining the staff as the QBs Coach. Tate spent ten seasons playing in the CFL before recently retiring and being named to Stoops' staff.

Joe Pendry will serve as the team's General Manager. Pendry has been an NFL, NCAA or USFL coach since 1971, but this will be his first opportunity as a General Manager.

Tom Savage was a 4th round selection of the Houston Texans back in 2014 and played for the team for four seasons before being released this offseason.

The Renegades will be playing their home games at Globe Life Park in Arlington in Arlington, TX.

Manziel Out of Alliance

September 5, 2017

Memphis, TN - On the 23rd of August, the troubled QB Johnny Manziel was arrested for driving under the influence, his third offense of his professional career. This morning, the team that he led to a league championship, Memphis Express, cut ways with the young star. Manziel was released, and don't expect another AAF team to sign him.

This puts the Express in a tough spot as the only other QB on their roster is Brad Sorenson and they're not allowed to sign another until the Expansion draft concludes in the middle of next month.
