Express Hit First Bump in Birmingham

Trent Richardson and Tony Dungy Out Game Plan the Express

March 12, 2017

Birmingham, AL - Iron Head Coach along with Defensive Coordinator Tim Lewis had the perfect game plan to slow down the hottest team in the league in Week 5. They ran the ball 43 times, milked the clock on offense and played a cover 4 that took away anything downfield for Express QB Johnny Manziel. This strategy paid huge dividends in the first half that concluded with a DB Robert Golden with a 66 yard pick six that made the score 21-6 at the half.

Proper adjustments were made at halftime for the Express, and they came out strong with Manziel taking what the defense gave him and matriculated the ball down the field that concluded with a 14 yard, Manziel to Gibson touchdown pass. However, after another long seven minute drive from the Iron, Manziel again tried pushing the football down the field and threw another interception to Robert Golden which effectively ended the comeback and the game.
