AAF Has Three Undefeated Teams, But League's Best May Not be One of Them

Roughnecks, Blues and Iron Remain Undefeated

February 28, 2016

New York, NY - Both offenses came out swinging and kept swinging throughout the entire game as Josh Freeman and the New York Guardians outscored Jimmy Clausen and the LA Wildcats, 37-34. Freeman got the scoring started early in the first when he connected with WR Vincent Brown for a 32 yard score. Clausen came right back and hit WR Donnie Avery for a 6 yard score. The Guardians then added two Field Goals, and an RB Ahmad Bradshaw touchdown to go up 20-7. However, Clausen put the Wildcats on a little run as well where they added a Clausen to WR AJ Jenkins 7 yard score, a Field Goal and a RB Kendall Hunter 1 yard touchdown plunge to make it 24-20 for the Wildcats. With only 0:23 left in the first half, Freeman hit WR Hakeem Nicks for a 55 yard bomb that set up a Field Goal right before the half.

Freeman kept the momentum rolling with the first drive of the second half as he hit TE Travis Beckum for a 9 yard score to put his team back on top 30-24. Clausen then got his team another K Corey Acosta Field Goal, and a RB Joe McKnight touchdown run to end the third with the lead of 34-30. After a few huge stops from both sides, Freeman again put on his cape, and led the Guardians down the field that concluded with an 11 yard Ahmad Bradshaw toss score and the win.
