Alphas Get all Lovie with Chicago

Chicago, IL - Vince McMahon and Alpha Entertainment LLC are proud to announce former Chicago Bears Head Coach Lovie Smith as the Head Coach of the Chicago Alphas.

Lovie Smith
Smith was fired as Head Coach from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after the 2015 season. He served as the Head Coach there for two seasons after being the Chicago Bears Head Coach from 2004 to 2012 including a Super Bowl trip in 2006. Prior to being a Head Coach, Lovie served as the St. Louis Rams Defensive Coordinator from 2001 to 2003, and served as a Linebackers Coach for twenty three years before that.
Chicago Alphas
Joining Lovie in Chicago will be Joker Phillips as the Offensive Coordinator and Dick Jauron as the Defensive Coordinator. Joker was the Head Coach at the University of Kentucky from 2010 to 2012, and served as a WRs Coach at five different universities from 1988 to 2010 before that. Jauron was the Chicago Bears' Head Coach from 1999 to 2003, Detroit Lions in 2005, and the Buffalo Bills from 2006 to 2009. He also served as a Defensive Coordinator for the Cleveland Browns in 2011 and 2012, the Detroit Lions for 2004 and the Jacksonville Jaguars in 1995 to 1998.
Former Chicago Bears Wide Receiver Johnny Knox will serve as the Alphas WR Coach. He played for the Bears from 2009 to 2012 before suffering a career ending injury. He was a coaching intern for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before accepting this position.
Jerry Angelo will serve as the General Manager of the Alphas. Angelo served as the GM of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1987 to 2000, and for the Chicago Bears from 2001 to 2011.
The Alphas will be playing their home games at legendary Soldier Field near Chicago.
