Apollos Replace Predators in Name and Ownership Only
September 14, 2020
Orlando, FL - Thomas Dundon along with Dundon Capital Partners LLC are proud to announce that the Orlando Apollos would be joining the AAF for the 2021 season. Dundon is also the owner of the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes while being a director at Callaway, Employer Direct Healthcare and TopGolf.
In June, rumors began surfacing that a few of the Alliance owners planned to be moving on from the league, so it gave the league time to find a few replacement candidates. Thomas Dundon was on top of that list. The Apollos franchise was purchased for $15M.
The Orlando Apollos were allowed to keep the roster and coaching staff that the Orlando Predators had assembled prior to owner David Siegel's move to the Indoor Football League. The Predators were on the doorsteps of playing for an Alliance Championship last season.
The Apollos will be playing their home games at Spectrum Stadium in Orlando.
Ownership Turnover Continues for the Alliance

Columbus, OH - Randy Lerner along with Generals Football LLC have announced that they would be folding the franchise. Lerner wasn't interested in commenting on the latest move, nor was he interested in moving forward with the team in another league.
With the huge blow of losing the league's 2020 Champion, the Alliance is back to 19 teams for the 2021 season. Alliance Commissioner stated the league would be pushing back their Free Agency period to December in order to give the league the desired time to find a 20th franchise.
