Steve Spurrier Joins the Alliance
April 8, 2015
Miami, FL - Vince McMahon and Alpha Entertainment LLC are proud to announce the ole' ball coach, Steve Spurrier, as the first Head Coach of the Miami Blues.
“Steve is the absolute perfect choice for a Florida franchise. No other coach has had more success in the state and we know the fans will fully get behind him.”
Miami may be an interesting first choice of locale for McMahon, who has previously stated he wanted to put his four initial franchises in giant markets, but Spurrier was an ideal choice for the league.
Steve Spurrier
Steve resigned as the Head Coach of the University of South Carolina following the 2014 season. Following his ten year NFL career as a Quarterback, Steve has served as the Head Coach for the Florida Gators, Duke Blue Devils and the South Carolina GameCocks at the college level and for the Tampa Bay Bandits and Washington Redskins at the professional level.
“The four to five month a year commitment makes this league the perfect for me to stay in coaching. It also gives me the opportunity to end my career on a winning note. It's almost like a mulligan. Not many people get the opportunity for a mulligan.”
