Vipers Are the First Non-US Franchise for the Alliance

The Mexico City Vipers Join the Alliance

Mexico City, MEXICO - George Maloof Jr. along with the Maloof Family LLC are proud to announce that the Mexico City Vipers would be joining the AAF for the 2021 season. George Maloof Jr. was the former owner of the NBA's Sacramento Kings and the WNBA's Sacramento Monarchs. He is also the owner of the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.


The Mexico City Vipers were allowed to keep the roster and coaching staff that the Cleveland Gladiators had assembled prior to owner Dan Gilbert's move to the Indoor Football League. The Vipers were purchased for $15M.


The Vipers have also announced that members the Oakland Panthers' coaching staff, Head Coach Hue Jackson, Offensive Coordinator Ken Zampese and Defensive Coordinator Teryl Austin would all be joining the coaching staff in Mexico City.


The Vipers will be playing their home games at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, Mexico.
