Schiano adds to impressive crop of coaches for the Alliance

Greg Schiano Brings Toughness to Alliance

Memphis, TN - Charlie Ebersol and Legendary Field Exhibitions LLC are proud to announce Greg Schiano as the first Head Coach of the Memphis Express.

Greg most recently served as the Head Coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the 2012 and 2013 seasons. Prior to that stop, he was the Head Coach at Rutgers University for eleven years, and was the Miami Hurricanes Defensive Coordinator for two seasons before that.

Memphis Express

Joining Schiano in Memphis will be Kyle Flood as the Offensive Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach and Dave Wannstedt as the Defensive Coordinator. Flood served under Schiano for seven seasons as the Offensive Line Coach and Offensive Coordinator at Rutgers. He then served as the Head Coach of Rutgers from 2012 to 2015. Wannstedt coached under Schiano as the Special Teams Coordinator with the Buccaneers. Wannstedt also hired Schiano as an assistant back when he was the Head Coach of the Chicago Bears from 1993 to 1998. Wannstedt also served as the Head Coach of the Miami Dolphins and University of Pittsburgh.


Former New York Jet and Tampa Bay Buccaneer Tight End Anthony Becht will be coaching the Tight Ends while former Cleveland Browns Quarterback Charlie Frye will be the QB Coach. Frye had been serving as the Offensive Coordinator for Wekiva(FL) High School prior to accepting this position.


Mark Dominik will be the General Manager for the Express. He was the GM of the TB Buccaneers from 2009 to 2013, an organization he had worked for from 1997. Mark hired Greg Schiano for the Buccaneers.


The Express will be playing their home games at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee.
