Atlantic City BlackJacks are the League's Newest Practice Squad

The Atlantic City Blackjacks Join the AAF

Atlantic City, NJ - Brian Woods announced to the crowd that the Atlantic City Blackjacks would be joining the AAF and replacing the Austin Generals as the league's traveling practice squad.


With the 20 AAF teams having finished their rosters a few weeks ago, the roster of the Atlantic City Blackjacks is now also complete. AAF teams began practices in December, the Blackjacks start now for preparation for the 2019 season.


The Blackjacks roster includes QBs Shane Carden, Eric Dungey, Chase Litton, Vincent Testaverde, Jalan McClendon, Nick Fitzgerald and Wilton Speight, RBs Bronson Hill, LJ Scott, Keith Ford, Karan Higdon, Mack Brown, Terrell Watson, and Larry Rose, WRs Daniel Braverman, Fred Ross, KD Cannon, Joe Horn, Tanner Gentry, Kermit Whitfield, Damon Sheehy-Guiseppi, Jalen Toliver, Justice Liggins, Reece Horn, Charone Peake, Trey Griffey, Max McCaffery, DeAngelo Yancey, Darius Jennings and Bryce Treggs.


Marty Schottenheimer returns as Head Coach, and the rest of the Austin Generals staff stays intact for the Atlantic City Blackjacks.


Jalen Hurts Transfer to the Alliance

Birmingham, AL - Former University of Alabama Quarterback Jalen Hurts announced via social media that he would be forgoing his last year of eligibility to sign with the Houston Roughnecks. Hurts decided to sign a one year contract for $1M with the Roughnecks over the possibility of transferring to the University of Oklahoma, where many people believed he would be going to follow in the footsteps of QBs Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray. Hurts also stated he intended to enter the 2019 NFL Draft following a successful AAF season.


Alliance League Has One Focus in CFL Free Agency

Stamford, CT - The league's focus during the CFL Free Agency was pretty clear. Find the young premier talent in the league and bring them back to the states. All of the signings the AAF made were under the age of 26 or they played in the trenches which is always focus point for the league.

- Baltimore Brigade signed QB Jonathon Jennings, #17 overall, #4 QB

- Las Vegas Conquerors signed LB Don Unamba, #15 overall, #3 DB

- Philadelphia Soul signed DB Jonathan Rose, #12 overall, #2 DB
