2021 Week 6 Recap: Dallas Built Different

Landry Jones Returns to Defeat Seattle

Dallas a Different Team with Landry Jones Under Center

March 21, 2021

Seattle, WA - An unanswered 18-point run lifted the visiting Dallas Renegades (3-2) to a 24-12 win over the Seattle Dragons (4-1) at CenturyLink Field on Saturday, pushing Dallas into a tie for second place in the Western Conference.

Dallas QB Landry Jones (30-for-41, 274 yards, three touchdowns, two interceptions) hit TE Donald Parham for two touchdowns (from 10 and 65 yards out, respectively), but the Renegades truly put the game away by leaning on the run after halftime. RB Cameron Artis-Payne wound up with 110 rushing yards in another commanding performance.

Dragons QB Geno Smith looked efficient with two first-half TD tosses but was stymied by the Renegades starting in the third quarter, and while Seattle's run game again was strong (99 yards), it failed to sustain late drives.

Parham's role is growing in Offensive Coordinator Hal Mumme's Air Raid offense as he continues to pose matchup problems with his height and athleticism. He's been the most consistent option in a deep Renegades receiving corps, having averaged eight targets per contest so far.

Posey returned to the game plan, going 6-81-1 on seven targets. His combined ability to sit down in coverage and find space in tight confines should keep him involved in the game plan most weeks.

LB Steven Johnson is one of the AAF's emerging defensive dynamos, and he once again imposed his presence on opponents. He gathered 14 more combined tackles (nine solo), two tackles for a loss, and a pass defensed.
