Only Two Weeks of Regular Season Action Left
Kaepernick and the Fleet Get Huge Win Against Surging Stallions
April 18, 2021
San Diego, CA - After only trading Field Goals in the first quarter, the action really picked up in the second when Stallions QB Paxton Lynch found WR Kevin White down the right sideline for a 48 scoring strike that gave the Stallions the 10-3 lead. However, Fleet QB Colin Kaepernick and the Fleet would respond with back to back touchdown drives to make it a 17-10 game at the half.
To start the third quarter, QB Kaepernick again found WR Martavis Bryant in the back of the end zone, and after a St. Louis Field Goal, QB Kaepernick only needed one play on the next drive where he hit WR Braxton Miller for a 79 yard Touchdown pass.
With the game now 31-13 going into the 4th, Stallions Head Coach John Fox opened up the playbook and it nearly brought his team all the way back. RB Christine Michael first scored on a 7 year trot, before backfield mate RB Matt Jones hit a 58 yard homerun on the next drive to make the game 31-28.
But just like he had the whole game, QB Kaepernick came up huge once again with a game sealing 39 yard Touchdown pass to TE Marcus Baugh. The Stallions didn't give up and added a QB Lynch to TE Nick Truesdell touchdown pass but would fall short on the scoreboard, 38-35.
