Alliance Prefers Covid Free
January 10, 2021
Stamford, CT - The league’s preference will be for its coaches, players and staff to be vaccinated for COVID-19 before the season begins. If they are not, Alliance Director of League Development Brian Woods said, they will be asked for proof of a negative test when arriving to training camp and will be subject to daily testing thereafter.
Les Miles Out as Head Coach of Valor
January 17, 2021
Washington, DC - Les Miles is out as the Valor head coach just days after he was placed on administrative leave amid sexual misconduct allegations from his tenure at LSU.
The Alliance announced Miles’ departure Monday night, describing it as a mutual agreement to part ways. Offensive coordinator Cam Cameron was named acting head coach.
“I am extremely disappointed for our football team, fans and everyone involved with our franchise,” Valor General Manager Doug Williams said in a statement. “We will begin the search for a new head coach immediately. We need to win football games, and that is exactly what we’re going to do.”
“This is certainly a difficult day for me and for my family,” Miles said in a statement. “I love the young men on our football team. I have truly enjoyed being the head coach in the Alliance and know that it is in a better place now than when I arrived.”
Alliance Elite Talent Comes Back to League
January 30, 2021
Stamford, CT - With the NFL season finishing up, almost all of the AAF talent that signed with NFL squads back in April returned to the league this month. Exactly how the AAF feels about their talent level compared to the CFL, is how the NFL feels about the talent level in the AAF. The players were used as roster fodder, rarely saw any real game action. The Alliance stars are happy to return to the league.
